More than 100 decisions now available - 2015
The Veterans Review and Appeal Board has published more than 100 new decisions to make our decision-making more open and accessible to Veterans and the public. This doubles the number of decisions currently published by the Board and demonstrates our continued commitment to publish more decisions for increased transparency and confidence in the appeal process.
These depersonalized decisions are available in both official languages on the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII) website, a well-known legal resource that organizes decisions by year and is searchable by key word. They include:
- 100 randomly selected decisions mostly issued in 2014-15 at Appeal, the second and final level of redress at the Board; and
- 7 decisions issued since 2013 in cases reheard by the Board following a Federal Court order (these decisions are also accessible from our judicial review page).
These decisions illustrate a broad range of medical or legal issues in cases heard by the Board, making them a helpful resource for Veterans and their representatives in preparing for hearings.
