We are honoured to serve you - 2012

Every year, from November 5 to 11, we observe Veterans' Week. This is a time to reflect on how we pay tribute to traditional and modern-day Veterans alike.

At the Veterans Review and Appeal Board, we are privileged to serve a constituency of people that are unique and impressive in their selfless service to Canada. As Chair of the Board, I continue to emphasize to members and staff that we must always bear in mind the debt owed to Veterans who have served our country so well.

At the Board, this means getting cases heard at the earliest opportunity, conducting fair hearings, issuing clear decisions, and treating Veterans with respect at all times. It also means acting on their feedback to improve the appeal program. We are guided by these priorities every day and will continue to make progress to better serve Veterans and their families.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Canada's Veterans for all that they have done and continue to do, and to recognize the families who support them. We are honoured to serve you.
